Adam Karol is a New York City-based singer/songwriter whose sound is a unique blend of influences from folk-rock to hip-hop. Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Adam was exposed to a wide array of musical styles from an early age. His father quickly recognized his musical ability and affinity for soulful sounds after observing him imitate a Sesame Street performance by The Four Tops at the age of three. Adam recalls, “I was running around the house singing 'Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch!' My dad swears I sounded like them. A few years later, Boyz II Men came out and he noticed I was matching their riffs. That’s really when the music education began.”
Building on this musical foundation, Adam became a devoted student of soul music absorbing the rich vocals and songwriting of legends Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, lush harmonies of D’Angelo, and creative boldness of Prince. While attending Berklee College of Music, Adam continued to hone his musicianship and repertoire through performances and collaborations with peers. Since settling in New York City, Adam has released two EP's, For Your Amusement and Curiosity, with his band Adam Karol & The Hotness. His sophisticated songwriting and soulful, dynamic vocals are the hallmarks of his distinct musical upbringing. Adam notes, "My dad really fostered my musicality. My mom loves to sing too. She may not always sound perfect, but she always comes with it. We say I got the soul from my mom."
